Wall Street, while symbolic, is no proper place to protest.
What remains today is mainly the NYSE, most i-banks reside in different areas of Manhattan (besides Deutsche Bank). Wall Street today is mainly high-end retail, some small businesses and eateries (and a HUGE Duane Reade).

Their being on Wall Street of all places is mostly symbolic. I’m sure a lot of organizers were aware of this, but they kind of are causing a bother with the NSE-goers. Which is kind of their point.
NYSE is but a marketplace for the trade of securities and does not reflect any actions of the banks and corporations the protesters are against. Impeding it is pointless.
